Youth Public Authority and Boeing to Announce the Establishment of Kuwait Digital Startup Campus

Kuwait ,  July 29, 2022 - The Youth Public Authority and Boeing have initiated work planning for the Kuwait Digital Startup Campus project, which aims to create a sustainable knowledge-based ecosystem for youth, based on innovation and technology.

Director General of the Public Authority for Youth, Dr. Mishaal Al-Shaheen Al-Rubaie, said that this project reflects the visionary initiatives put forth by His Highness Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah; through the optimal utilization of the State properties to support and empower Kuwaiti youth, develop their technological capabilities and help them in building their future career.

Al-Rubaie said that this project will assist young entrepreneurs to transform their tech ideas into tangible outcomes and establish their startups, and enhance the competitive capabilities of the existing SMEs. The project will also contribute to knowledge and technology transfer, attraction of foreign investments, and digitalization of the government, economic and financial sectors. 

As part of investments in the Kuwaiti vision 2035, Boeing will work with Youth Public Authority to design a physical space that will create a creative collaborative environment for the entrepreneurial community. Boeing, along with its partners, will also conduct an ecosystem canvassing study to identify and meet with key stakeholders in the Kuwaiti innovation landscape.

Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President of Boeing Middle East, Turkey and Africa, said, “We are pleased to cooperate with Youth Public Authority on the Kuwait Digital Startup Campus project. The project will equip digital entrepreneurs with the resources and skillsets they need to be successful in the global competitive landscape."

Youth Public Authority is a government entity established by an Amiri Decree No. 100/2015 to support and develop youth, enhance their societal and economic participation, and empower them to lead the economic development in Kuwait. In 2021 Kuwait led the Arab countries and ranked 27 (out of 181) in the Global Youth Development Index.
